The Corporate Structure
Fletcher Academy, Incorporated (FAI), founded in 1910, is a non-profit corporation that provides the business framework for a unique operating structure. This structure includes two independent Christian schools that provide a distinctly Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) education as well as several businesses dedicated to furthering Christian Adventist education. FAI, whose motto is “Christian Businesses for Christian Education,” manages these businesses that not only serve our community but also provide the opportunity for students to earn a portion of their tuition while giving them real-life work experiences. FAI owns and operates both Captain Gilmer Christian School (CGCS), grades pre K – 8, and Fletcher Academy (FA), grades 9 – 12. FA is fully funded by the combination of tuition, income from the businesses of FAI, and contributions made by dedicated alumni and friends. CGCS is partially funded by three constituent area SDA churches (Fletcher, Arden, and Hendersonville). This model has served Fletcher for many years.
