Chaplain Carter graduated in 2001 from Southern Adventist University with his BA in Religion, with an emphasis in education and psychology. Upon graduating, Chaplain Carter spent his first four years teaching every class except math and English for grades 7-10 while at Tri-City Junior Academy in High Point, North Carolina.

In the spring of 2005, Chaplain Carter received a call to be the chaplain at Fletcher Academy. When asked what he enjoys the most about being at Fletcher Academy, he quickly responded, “The people! I absolutely love working with the students, staff and parents in this growing community of believers. It excites me to see how the Holy Spirit is leading in young people’s lives.”

In his free time, Chaplain Carter is an avid photographer and can be seen helping out with the yearbook, creating senior portraits, doing wedding photography or taking photographs of his beautiful baby boy. In addition, he also enjoys reading God’s Word, Spirit of Prophecy, cooking/baking, playing sports, and spending time with his family. Chaplain Carter’s wife of six years, Carolyn, is the Dean of Girl’s at Fletcher Academy. They became the proud parents of their first son in January.
