Mrs. Gettys graduated from Southern Adventist University where she earned a B.A. in Education with endorsements in 9th/10th grade English, History and Bible.  She has worked at Captain Gilmer, Great Lakes Adventist Academy, Cedar Lake Elementary, Southwestern Adventist University and Fletcher Academy.

Mrs. Gettys enjoys a good book-anytime, exercising, hiking, visiting Major League Baseball stadiums and National Parks around the country with her family, and hanging out with teenagers at boarding academies.

Mrs. Gettys and her husband, Rob, have two active sons, Trey and Caleb, who both love sports and Legos, and an awesome cat named Perriwinkle.
